During the three conference days, leading experts will present successful “drop-in” solutions that maintain the existing structure of the chemical industry but switch the carbon source from fossil to renewable carbon. At the same time, a new chemical industry is emerging with novel building blocks and polymers, with innovative processes for example from biotechnology and electrochemistry, and with entirely new functionalities. One special in-depth session will focus on furans, FDCA and PEF, the other on biodegradation of polymers such as PHA or PLA, PBAT and PBS.
